Store / Gallery Assistant
Responsibilities
include: Liaison with artists exhibiting and selling at Clay Space; helping to
organize and advertise sales, exhibits and other special events; creating
documentation materials (tags, signs, inventories); researching and assembling
artists statements for gallery use; assisting with hosting receptions, sending
press releases, displaying and presenting artist's work; and loving art!
3-15 hours per month.
Social Networking / Public Relations
We are
looking for a person with a few extra hours a week to take on this position.
Includes writing press releases to local and national publications, listing
classes with groups and on list-serves and maintaining Clay Space's Facebook page, outreach and
PR. Recording some of our efforts and tracking for value.
3-6 hours a week. Can work remotely.
Staffing the Store at Clay Space
Clay
Space is looking for the perfect person to work in the store during special events! If you have retail and ceramic experience, and are
interested in this position please contact us.
Education Planning Intern
We are
looking for a person with a few hours a week to work with us on our education
program. Includes helping plan programs, workshops, special events. Involves
doing research, collecting information, helping organize and manage program
details; and helping with marketing efforts to schools.
Lab Tech / Assistant
This position is perfect for a person that has experience working in a ceramic studio. Duties involve following through with regular studio maintenance; cleaning up the
facility; reclaiming clay; taking care of the slop buckets and sink traps;
mixing glazes, loading and unloading kilns; shelf maintenance and more.
Master Calendar Compiler!
Help us stay on top of what's happening in our community! Put together and annually update a list of various events and other
important dates so that Clay Space can effectively plan out its calendar of
workshops, classes, and other special happenings.
Clerical
If you enjoy administrative tasks and require a flexible schedule, sign up to help with our office tasks. This could be data entry, file or office organization, updating our email and data lists and the like.
Special Event Volunteer
Decorate and help with special events, pizza parties, kiln loading and opening, wrap packages during the Holiday Sale in December, help set-up and provide assistance during special workshops, and simply provide a friendly face during our events. Volunteers are needed for all aspects of special events, from set up to tear down. Upcoming special event opportunities include a unique demonstration workshop on September 25th with Ernesto Guevara, sponsored potter through Fiesta Latina, Clay Fest in October and our third annual Open Studio and Holiday Sale on December 3, 4 and 5, 2010.
Sack Lunch Series Coordinator
Help us
plan a series of Tuesday Sack Lunch free presentations. Work with Clay Space staff to identify presenters
and topics of interest; make contacts, help with scheduling, send out reminders
to speakers, help with publicity and generally make sure the series runs
smoothly.
This is a position that works ideally with a commitment of 3 months at a time.
